This camera has the advantage of a motorised pan and tilt function. This can be controlled remotely or set to operate on a time schedule. It uses MPEG-4 Short Header Mode to stream live video at up to 30 frames per second for real-time viewing and has a good sharp picture. The camera also features 4x digital zoom for close-up viewing and works well in porr light. It also has a built in microphone so you can hear and watch live activity and there is the facility to connect an external microphone too. It has both standard and wireless network connectivity making it very flexible and easy to install. Motion detection is built in to it and it comes with surveillance software to let you view up to 16 cameras on a single computer screen at one central location. This is quite good.......but not as good as Active Webcam. I only had the opportunity to test the camera with Active Webcam before returning it and it worked very well. A bit pricy.......due to the pan and tilt facility but not as expensive as some and works great and is a good buy. |

With its own web server, light sensitive lens, digital zoom and sound, this camera presents a low-cost solution for demanding home/office security needs. |
Users have the ability to view live video streams from a compatible 3G cell phone. The live camera feed of the camera can be pulled from the 3G cellular network by using a compatible cell phone or PDA with a 3G video player. I havent got one so i could not test that bit, but the software that comes with it is quite good and its features make this a pretty good low budget camera. I didnt want to give it back. |
To make the most of IP cameras you really need Active Webcam and this camera worked great with it and with PY Broadcaster and Willing Webcam. |
